‘Legitimate duty and right’: Iranian President Pezeshkian vows revenge after Khamenei martyrdom
Iran’s President, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, has described the martyrdom of Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as a declaration of war against the entire Muslim world. He emphasized that Iran considers it both a religious right and a national duty to seek vengeance for this act.
In his condolence message, President Pezeshkian expressed deep sorrow over the death of the leader, calling it the greatest loss for the Muslim Ummah. He said that the world’s worst enemies were responsible for the martyrdom of the great commander and esteemed leader of the Islamic Revolution, and this event represents the biggest test for today’s Islamic world.
The President further stated that the murder of Iran’s highest political figure and a prominent Shia religious authority at the hands of the US and Zionist alliance is, in essence, a declaration of war against all Muslims, particularly Shia Muslims worldwide.
Dr. Pezeshkian noted that under the visionary leadership of Ayatollah Khamenei, Iran had continued the path of Imam Khomeini with strength and dignity for the past 37 years. Iran had become a center of anti-imperialism, freedom, and sovereignty.
The Iranian President made it clear in no uncertain terms that Iran views seeking revenge and retribution for this historical crime as both a religious and legal right. He assured the nation that Iran would fulfill this responsibility with all its resources and energy.
In closing, President Pezeshkian extended his condolences to the Muslim world, the noble Iranian people, and the followers of the late leader, reaffirming that the path of this great and steadfast man would continue with full strength.
