Major US Newspaper Condemns Trump’s Iran Strike as “Irresponsible and Reckless”
A leading American newspaper has sharply criticized former President Donald Trump over the recent US strike on Iran, describing the move as “irresponsible and reckless.”
In a strongly worded editorial, the publication argued that Trump failed to present a clear justification for the military action to the American public and did not seek formal authorization from Congress. The paper noted that this approach has raised serious constitutional and political concerns in Washington.
The editorial further pointed out that during his 2024 election campaign, Trump pledged to end overseas wars. However, it claimed that over the past year he has authorized military operations in seven countries, a move critics say contradicts his earlier promises.
Meanwhile, US officials stated that Secretary of State Marco Rubio contacted the congressional leadership group known as the “Gang of Eight” prior to the operation to brief them on the action.
On the other hand, Iran’s Red Crescent reported that US and Israeli strikes across Iran resulted in 201 deaths and 747 injuries, with attacks carried out in 24 provinces nationwide.
Amid rising regional tensions, international concern has intensified, with growing calls from global leaders and diplomatic circles for restraint and a renewed push toward a negotiated solution.
