NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani Slams US-Israel Strikes on Iran as “Catastrophic Escalation”

In a public speech and X post, New York City Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani denounced the US-Israel military strikes on Iran on Saturday, describing them as “a catastrophic escalation in an illegal war of aggression.”

Mamdani claimed in the statement that the attacks were “a catastrophic escalation,” that “Americans do not want this,” and that the people wants “peace” and “relief from the affordability crisis.”

The remarks were made just hours after the joint US-Israeli attack against Iran began. While Israel claimed to have started its own operation, “Lion’s Roar,” in collaboration with Washington, President Donald Trump claimed that the US had started “major combat operations” under the moniker “Epic Fury.”
