Netanyahu Killed in Iranian Missile Strike, Unverified Reports Claim

02 March, 2026 18:00

Unverified reports circulating on Iranian social media platforms have claimed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may have been killed following an Iranian Kheibar missile strike on the southern Israeli city of Beersheba. Israeli authorities have not confirmed these claims.

According to Iranian non-official Telegram groups, “There are reports of Netanyahu being killed, according to Iranian unofficial Telegram groups.” The claims remain unverified and have not been supported by any official Israeli statement.

Iranian-affiliated sources further stated, “Today in Beersheba, Iranian Kheibar missiles successfully hit their targets,” alleging that the strike was carried out effectively. Another circulating statement read, “An Iranian Kheibar missile attack in Beersheba; unconfirmed reports of Netanyahu’s death.”

Beersheba is considered a strategically important city, housing key Israeli government offices. Reports also suggest that Netanyahu has a private residence in the city, although no official confirmation has linked the missile strike to any specific property.

Following the reported attack, Netanyahu’s scheduled visit to Beit Shemesh was postponed. He had planned to visit the affected area to assess the damage and meet with injured civilians. The postponement of the visit has fueled further speculation online regarding his condition, though no verified information has been released.

Israeli officials have not issued any confirmation regarding injuries or casualties involving the prime minister. Independent verification of the Iranian social media claims has not yet been established.

The alleged strike comes amid heightened regional tensions between Israel and Iran. Analysts caution that information shared by unofficial sources should be treated carefully until confirmed by credible authorities.

The situation remains developing, and further updates are expected as official statements become available.
