KUWAIT CITY, March 2, 2026 – A US Air Force United States Air Force F-15 fighter jet has crashed in northern Kuwait near the Iraqi border, according to initial reports. The pilot ejected safely and was later assisted by locals.
Crash Near Khor Abdullah Waterway
The aircraft reportedly went down in a sparsely populated area near the Khor Abdullah, the channel that separates Iraq and Kuwait.
Early information suggests the pilot successfully activated the ejection system before the aircraft spiraled downward. Media reports indicate that residents in the area helped the pilot shortly after landing.
Viral Videos Show Smoke
Videos circulating on social media appear to show a fighter jet descending rapidly before impact, followed by thick smoke rising from the crash site. Authorities have not yet verified the authenticity of the footage.
Around the same time, residents in parts of Kuwait reported hearing explosions and air raid sirens. Increased military activity was also reported in areas including Jahra and the Tenth District.
No Official Cause Yet
Kuwaiti and US authorities have not released details about the cause of the crash. It remains unclear whether the incident was linked to ongoing regional tensions tied to the Israel-Iran conflict or was the result of mechanical failure.
An investigation is expected to determine what led to the aircraft going down.
