Satellite images show Iran destroyed US-made radars in UAE and Jordan

06 March, 2026 12:55

Satellite images show that several US-made radar systems in the UAE and Jordan were hit by Iranian missiles and drones as Iran continues its retaliatory campaign against the United States and Israel.

New images from military sites across the Arabian Peninsula suggest that Iran focused on targeting radar infrastructure that supports US-supplied missile defense systems.

One radar system connected to an American THAAD missile battery at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan appears to have been hit and destroyed during the early days of the conflict. Satellite images captured on Monday show damage at the base, which is located more than 500 miles from Iran, showing the long range of Iran’s operations.

Similar damage has also been reported in the United Arab Emirates. Satellite analysis indicates that buildings related to radar systems were hit at two locations near Ruwais and Sader between February 28 and March 1. Reports say three structures in Ruwais and four in Sader were damaged, including pull-through vehicle sheds usually used to store radar equipment linked to THAAD batteries.

Radar systems are a key part of missile defense technology because they detect and track incoming ballistic missiles and drones. Without radar support, interceptor systems cannot respond effectively to threats.

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said these strikes are part of its ongoing Operation True Promise 4, launched in response to what it called US and Israeli aggression. The IRGC stated, “With the successful destruction of more than seven advanced radars, the eyes of the US and the usurping Zionist regime in the region have been blinded.” The statement was released on Wednesday while announcing the 17th stage of the operation.

The latest developments follow attacks launched by the United States and Israel on February 28, eight months after earlier strikes on Iran. According to reports, the attacks led to the martyrdom of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and more than 1,200 civilians, including women, children, and senior military commanders.

Iran responded with waves of missile and drone attacks targeting Israeli-controlled areas and US bases in the region. Iranian officials say the conflict was forced on the country and that their military response is a legitimate act of self-defense aimed at stopping further attacks.
