Donald Trump Keeps Iran Ground Deployment on the Table
WASHINGTON — The White House has stated that the option to deploy ground troops to Iran remains under consideration by President Donald Trump.
According to a report by ABC News, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt clarified that while the current military campaign against Iran is limited to air operations, the president has not ruled out the use of ground forces as a potential future option.
Regarding the ongoing U.S. military air operations, Leavitt confirmed that the campaign will continue. She noted that the president is intentionally keeping all strategic options open. “The President, as Commander-in-Chief, wants to continuously review the success of this military operation,” she stated, adding that while many politicians might rush to take options off the table, the President believes it is wiser to maintain flexibility.
Leavitt emphasized that while sending ground troops to Iran is not part of the current operational plan, it remains a viable contingency.
When asked how the conflict in the Middle East might influence the U.S. economy and the upcoming midterm elections in November, the press secretary replied that President Trump possesses the ability to manage multiple crises simultaneously. She asserted that he is capable of handling significant external conflicts while effectively addressing domestic economic challenges.
