US Used $5.6 Billion in Arms Early in Iran Conflict: Report
In the opening days of the conflict with Iran, the U.S. military utilized approximately $5.6 billion worth of weapons and ammunition, according to Pentagon estimates cited by The Washington Post. This expenditure underscores the high volume of advanced, precision-guided munitions deployed by U.S. forces in a very short period.
This rapid rate of consumption has raised concerns among some members of the U.S. Congress regarding the depletion of the military’s specialized, high-end weapon stockpiles. While President Donald Trump recently claimed on social media that the U.S. possesses “virtually unlimited” supplies of medium-grade munitions and a “good supply” of higher-end weapons, lawmakers remain focused on the potential need for supplemental funding to replenish inventories.
Meanwhile, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reports that its forces have struck more than 5,000 targets across Iran. Additionally, U.S. officials claim that dozens of Iranian naval vessels have been destroyed or damaged during the operation.
