13 US soldiers killed in 291 operation, says Iraqi Resistance

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq has announced that it carried out 291 military operations over the past 12 days, claiming that 13 American soldiers were killed and dozens more wounded during the attacks.

In a statement on Wednesday, the group said it conducted 31 operations in the past 24 hours alone, using dozens of drones and missiles to target US bases in Iraq and other regional locations.

The statement warned European countries against joining what it called the aggression against Iran, saying that global powers are trying to suppress “the dignity and independence of nations” by imposing their dominance on free peoples. It also accused “the Zionist and American enemy” of seeking allies to participate in the war against Iran.

The group added that any country participating in the aggression would be considered an enemy, and its forces and interests in Iraq and across the region could become legitimate targets for retaliation.

Drone Shot Down in Basra

On Tuesday, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced that its fighters had shot down an advanced enemy drone in northern Basra Province in southern Iraq. The drone, identified as a US MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicle, was destroyed by resistance fighters using an “appropriate weapon”.

Background of Recent Tensions

The latest attacks come after the US and Israel started a new round of aerial aggression on Iran on February 28, about eight months after previous unprovoked attacks. The earlier attacks reportedly included the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and top military officials.

According to reports, more than 1,200 civilians, including hundreds of women and children, have been martyred so far. In response, Iran launched missile and drone attacks on Israeli-occupied territories and US bases in regional countries.

The situation highlights the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, with attacks and retaliations continuing between various regional and international actors.
