IRGC Launches 40th Wave of Operation True Promise 4 with Hezbollah Support

12 March, 2026 08:02

Thursday, March 12, 2026: Iran’s elite military force, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, announced that it has launched the 40th wave of its retaliatory campaign called Operation True Promise 4. The operation involved missile strikes on multiple targets across what Iran described as the “occupied territories.”

According to the IRGC, several types of missiles were used during the latest phase of the operation, including Qadr, Emad, Kheibar Shekan, and Fattah missiles. Iranian officials said the strikes were part of an ongoing military response to recent regional tensions.

Five Hours of Continuous Missile Strikes

The IRGC stated that the operation involved around five hours of continuous missile launches. The goal was to maintain sustained pressure on military targets.

The strikes were reportedly carried out with support from the Lebanese group Hezbollah. According to Iranian statements, Hezbollah fighters launched large numbers of drones and missiles during the coordinated attacks.

Iranian officials claimed that the joint strikes targeted more than 50 locations across different areas.

Attacks Reported in Northern, Central, and Southern Areas

Iranian sources said the attacks reached multiple regions. These included areas near Haifa in the north, Tel Aviv in central areas, and Be’er Sheva in the south.

For the first time during Operation True Promise 4, missiles were also reportedly fired toward the port city of Eilat, located in the southern part of the region.

The Israeli military said the attacks targeted several areas across the north, center, and south.

IRGC Claims “New Reality on the Ground”

In its statement, the IRGC said missile launches toward Israel had increased significantly during the past 24 hours. Iranian officials claimed that the strikes had caused damage to military facilities and created pressure on Israeli defense systems.

The statement also claimed that residents were forced to take shelter during repeated warning sirens.

US Military Facilities Also Reportedly Targeted

The IRGC said the 40th wave also included strikes on US military sites in the region. According to the statement, bases such as al-Azraq in Jordan and al-Kharj in Saudi Arabia were targeted.

However, independent confirmation of the reported damage was not immediately available.

Earlier Waves of Operation True Promise 4

The announcement came shortly after the IRGC said it had carried out the 39th wave of Operation True Promise 4. That phase was described as being conducted in memory of fighters killed in recent clashes.

Iranian officials said missiles such as Qadr, Khorramshahr, and Emad were used in those earlier strikes.

Another previous phase, described as the 38th wave, was reportedly carried out by the IRGC Navy and targeted US military facilities in the Persian Gulf region.

Background of the Operation

Iran says Operation True Promise 4 began after what it described as recent attacks by the United States and Israel against Iranian interests. The operation has since continued with multiple waves of missile and drone strikes across the region.

The situation remains tense as both sides monitor developments in the Middle East.
