Trump claims Iran uses AI as ‘disinformation weapon’ to misrepresent its wartime success

Trump Administration Warns News Outlets Over Critical Iran War Coverage
Donald Trump has claimed that Iran is using artificial intelligence to spread disinformation about its success during the ongoing war, although the US president did not present evidence to support the allegation.
Trump made the remarks while speaking to reporters aboard the presidential aircraft Air Force One. He said artificial intelligence could be dangerous if it is used to manipulate information during wartime.
“AI can be very dangerous. We have to be very careful with it,” Trump said.
Trump Accuses Media of Coordinating With Iran
Earlier, Trump also made similar claims on his social media platform Truth Social.
In the post, he accused some Western media organizations of working in “close coordination” with Iran to spread what he described as AI-generated fake news related to the war.
However, the president did not provide any evidence to support the accusation.
Claims About Rally Images
Trump also questioned images showing a large rally in Tehran in support of Iran’s new leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.
He claimed that photos showing hundreds of thousands of people attending the rally were “totally AI generated” and that the gathering never actually took place.
Several international media organizations have published photos of rallies in Tehran following the announcement of the new leadership.
Public Rallies Reported Across Iran
According to reports, large crowds have gathered in different cities across Iran since the conflict began.
Participants have taken part in rallies to show support for the country during the war and to express loyalty to the new leadership.
Images and videos shared by multiple news outlets showed large gatherings in the capital after Mojtaba Khamenei was announced as the leader following the death of his predecessor, Ali Khamenei.
Conflict Between Iran, US and Israel
The conflict escalated after the United States and Israel launched attacks on targets in Tehran in late February.
Iranian officials said the strikes killed several senior military commanders and the former leader of the Islamic Republic.
In response, Iranian forces launched missiles and drones toward Israeli-controlled areas and US military bases in the region.
Iran Calls Actions Self-Defense
Iranian authorities say their actions are part of legitimate self-defense.
Officials have referred to Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, which recognizes the right of countries to defend themselves against armed attacks.
They say Iran has the legal right to respond to what they describe as acts of aggression by the United States and Israel.
