Iran strongly condemns continued Israeli violations in Lebanon, calls for global response

The Iranian Foreign Ministry has strongly criticized Israel for its ongoing attacks on Lebanon and called out the world for ignoring the situation.

Esmail Baghaei, the ministry’s spokesman, said on Tuesday that Israel is targeting civilians, medical workers, and rescue teams while bombing residential areas and destroying important infrastructure. He described these attacks as violations of international law and human rights, calling them war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Baghaei warned that the international community cannot stay silent. He also said that global inaction, along with support from the United States, has encouraged Israel to continue and even increase these attacks.

Hundreds of people have been killed despite a 2024 ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah. The deal was meant to stop the deadly escalation, but Israel has continued its violations.

Hezbollah recently announced that it will end its period of self-restraint and start actively confronting Israeli attacks. The group’s Secretary General, Sheikh Naim Qassem, emphasized that resistance is the only solution against Israel’s aggression toward Lebanon.

The situation highlights ongoing tensions in the region, with Iran condemning Israel’s actions and Hezbollah preparing to respond to continued attacks.
