Former White House Advisor: Hormuz Closure Hard to Resolve
Former White House energy advisor Bob McNally has warned that there is no effective policy solution to the prolonged closure of the Strait of Hormuz, leaving President Trump with limited options.
Bob McNally said in an interview that measures such as military surveillance, the use of strategic oil reserves, or gas tax cuts are merely temporary and secondary in nature.
Bob McNeilly said that there is no effective policy solution to the prolonged closure of the Strait of Hormuz, and President Trump has limited options, most of which are either symbolic or ineffective, while some decisions could even prove harmful.
Bob McNeilly said that the only real solution is to fully restore oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, but even if the United States immediately declares an end to the war, there is no guarantee that Iran will open the Strait of Hormuz and the situation will return to normal.
According to him, if Iran continues to demonstrate the ability to target ships in the Strait of Hormuz whenever it wants, this will be enough to affect global shipping traffic through there.
