Israel Attacks Iran’s South Pars Gas Field, Production Suspended

Israel continues to carry out attacks on Iran. The Israeli military attacked gas installations in Iran’s coastal South Pars field.

After the Israeli attack, the production of more than 25,000 million cubic feet of Iranian gas was suspended. The world’s largest South Pars field is jointly owned by Iran and Qatar.

Iran announced an immediate response to the attack on the South Pars gas field and refinery, targeting all oil facilities in the region that are owned or operated by American companies.

In this regard, Iran announced the targeting of Saudi Arabia’s Samarf Refinery and Jubail Petrochemical Complex, the United Arab Emirates’ Al Hosn Gas Field, and Qatar’s Ras Laffan Refinery and Mesaieed Petrochemical Complex.

After the attack on the Ras Al-Fan industrial city of Qatar, a fire broke out in the facility, causing severe damage. The world’s largest LNG export facility is located at Ras Al-Fan Port. There is a risk that LNG supply will be affected after the attack.

Iran’s chief medical officer has said that attacks on Iranian energy facilities will only cause complications, and the situation will spiral out of control for the world.

Meanwhile, Qatar described the Israeli attack on Iran’s energy facilities as dangerous and irresponsible. The Qatari Foreign Ministry said that Israel targeted energy facilities connected to Iran’s South Pars field, which is an extension of Qatar’s North Field.

In his statement, the Qatari Foreign Minister said that targeting energy infrastructure is a threat to global energy security.

The United Arab Emirates also expressed concern over the attack on the joint Pars gas field between Iran and Qatar, saying in a statement that the South Pars field in Iran is connected to the North Field in Qatar. Israel’s targeting of this field could pose a serious threat to global energy.

The United Arab Emirates stressed complete avoidance of targeting critical installations.
