Israeli Journalist Criticizes Air Defense Failure After Iranian Missile Strike
An Israeli military correspondent has publicly criticized authorities after what he described as a failure of air defense systems during a recent Iranian missile attack.
The journalist, Hillel Biton Rosen from Channel 14, reacted strongly on air, accusing officials of trying to downplay and avoid scrutiny over the performance of Israel’s missile interception systems.
His remarks came after Iranian missiles reportedly bypassed defense systems and struck areas including Dimona and Arad, causing significant damage. Dimona is considered a sensitive location due to its proximity to a nuclear facility.
Videos circulating on social media showed impact moments and large-scale destruction, with reports suggesting that more than 200 people were killed or injured in the strikes.
Rosen demanded transparency from authorities, saying officials must clearly explain what happened during the attacks. “The public deserves to know why the missiles were not intercepted,” he said.
He also rejected explanations from senior military officials, calling their briefings insufficient. According to him, describing the incident as a “miscalculation” without further details is unacceptable.
The journalist warned that media representatives may continue to raise the issue publicly if clear answers are not provided. He stressed that accountability and transparency are essential in such critical situations.
