Germany Calls US War on Iran a ‘Serious Political Mistake’

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier called the US war on Iran a devastating political mistake and a violation of international law.

Speaking at a ceremony in Berlin, the German president harshly criticized US President Trump and said that this war is a violation of international law and that the US justification for this war is unacceptable.

He said that if the purpose of the war were to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, then it would be an unnecessary war.

On the other hand, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said he appreciated the German president for breaking his silence and condemning the illegal war against Iran.

He added that the West has double standards on the issues of Gaza and Ukraine. This double standard of the West is reflected in its silence on the American and Israeli attacks on Iran. Those who believe in the rule of law should also raise their voices against violations of the law.
