Yemen backs Iran, warns Arab states against ‘Zionist conspiracy’

The chairman of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, Mahdi al-Mashat, has expressed strong support for Tehran and warned Arab states not to become “tools” for a “Zionist conspiracy” following the US-Israeli attacks on Iran.

Speaking on Wednesday, al-Mashat said Yemen fully backs Iran and emphasized the Islamic Republic’s right to defend itself against aggressor countries. He said the attacks on Iran were caused by the Zionists’ “covetous” policies in the region.

Addressing Arab and Islamic nations, he stated, “If you don’t help defeat the Zionist conspiracy, don’t be a tool to implement it.”

The US-Israeli aggression on Iran began on February 28 with airstrikes that killed senior Iranian officials and commanders. Since then, Iranian forces have launched almost daily missile and drone operations targeting Israeli-occupied territories and US military bases in the region.

On Wednesday, Yemen’s Ansarullah political bureau congratulated Iran for its successful retaliatory actions. The bureau said the attacks on Iran were meant to help Israel gain control over the region. It added that Iran is defending the region, the Islamic Ummah, and sacred sites against the front of blasphemy and rebellion.

The statement also highlighted that “the only option is jihad (fighting for the sake of God) and resistance against the Zionist-American enemy that only understands the language of force.”

Reports indicate that Ansarullah is ready to enter the battlefield in support of Iran. Tasnim News Agency quoted a source saying, “As they have stated since the first day of the unlawful aggression on February 28, Ansarullah is on full alert and ready to enter the battlefield.”

The source added that the movement could use its control over the strategic Bab el-Mandeb Strait to pressure the aggressors if needed.
