Iran Defense Ministry: Significant Missile Capability Still Undeployed

Iran’s Defense Ministry has announced that a substantial portion of the country’s missile capability remains unused, underscoring its continued military strength and preparedness. The statement was delivered by Brigadier General Reza Talaei-Nik on Saturday, who emphasized that Iran maintains a high level of defensive and retaliatory readiness despite intense military engagement up until April 7 involving what he described as unlawful aggression by the United States and Israel.

According to the spokesperson, Iran’s Armed Forces successfully sustained control over the skies of occupied territories during the confrontation, demonstrating operational superiority in key areas. He further highlighted that the nation’s defense sector is fully reliant on domestic production, with more than 1,000 types of weapons currently being manufactured across the country.

“This capacity is the result of more than 25 years of investment and preparation in the defense industry, to the extent that even if some facilities are damaged, the process of production and support continues across the country’s geographical expanse,” he added.

Talaei-Nik also revealed that approximately 9,000 companies are collaborating with the Armed Forces and the Defense Ministry, reinforcing Iran’s self-sufficiency in military production.

Addressing regional developments, he pointed to the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz, stating that its closure in response to ongoing American actions has strengthened Iran’s leverage in pursuing national interests. He added that Iranian forces have repeatedly compelled opposing forces to retreat in the Gulf of Oman through calculated and controlled measures.

In addition, the official praised the widespread public demonstrations supporting the country’s leadership, describing them as a “social miracle.” He noted that over 30 million citizens have registered in a national campaign expressing their readiness to defend the country, marking what he called an unprecedented level of public mobilization that has countered efforts to create internal divisions.
