Saudi Ports Authority Extends Transit Cargo Storage Fee Exemption to Boost Trade and Logistics
Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced an extension of its storage fee exemption initiative for transit cargo at several major ports across the Kingdom.
Under the updated policy, transit cargo will receive a waiver on storage fees for up to 15 days at selected Saudi ports, including King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, Yanbu Commercial Port, Yanbu Industrial Port, and NEOM Port.
Mawani stated that the initiative is designed to improve supply chain operations and facilitate smoother trade movement through Saudi Arabia’s maritime gateways.
The exemption applies to transit cargo, roll-on/roll-off shipments, and additional categories of goods, although container shipments are excluded from the program.
According to the authority, the move aligns with ongoing efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of Saudi ports and reinforce the Kingdom’s role as a regional and global logistics hub.
Mawani emphasized that it continues to introduce strategic initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency in the logistics sector while supporting the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.
The authority added that the initiative contributes to Saudi Arabia’s long-term vision of becoming a leading international logistics center by enhancing trade facilitation and port services.
