China Urges US to Lift Sanctions on Iran, Implement Memorandum of Understanding

China has called on the United States to remove its unilateral sanctions on Iran and fully implement the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), expressing support for continued diplomatic engagement between Tehran and Washington.
Speaking at a regular press briefing in Beijing on Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said China believes the US sanctions on Iran should be lifted without delay. He reiterated Beijing’s long-standing position that unilateral sanctions are not conducive to resolving disputes through dialogue.
Guo also expressed hope that Tehran and Washington would jointly implement the MoU and continue negotiations aimed at achieving a comprehensive political solution to issues involving Iran. He said China supports diplomatic efforts that contribute to regional stability and peaceful resolution of differences.
