02 July, 2026 19:32

A group of anti-imperialist activists, academics, journalists, and representatives of Islamic centers from several European countries are reportedly travelling to Tehran to attend the funeral procession of the Martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. The delegation is said to include members of political and academic circles, as well as participants from anti-war and labour organizations.

According to reports, the groups include individuals associated with Italy’s anti-imperialist movements, university professors, researchers, journalists, and supporters of the Islamic Revolution. They are said to be arriving in Iran despite the absence of formal invitations from European governments.

Diplomatic sources quoted in reports claim that the funeral procession has drawn attention from activists and intellectuals across Europe who wish to express solidarity with the Iranian people and what they describe as resistance against Western geopolitical influence. The late leader is being portrayed by supporters as a symbol of independence and opposition to global hegemony.

Separate sources have stated that visas were issued for representatives of Islamic centers and institutions in the Netherlands, along with Iranian expatriates and some Iraqi and Turkish nationals residing there. Additional movements of activists and community members from various European countries are also reportedly underway ahead of the ceremony in Tehran.
