Iran Warns US Against Interference in Strait of Hormuz

Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters has warned that any interference by the United States in the Strait of Hormuz would prompt a swift and decisive response from the country’s armed forces. In a statement issued on Thursday, the military command reaffirmed Iran’s claim of sovereignty over the strategically important waterway and cautioned Washington against actions it said could undermine regional security.

The headquarters described the Strait of Hormuz as falling under the “indisputable sovereignty” of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stressing that the security and stability of the vital shipping route remain a red line for the country’s armed forces. The statement asserted that the waterway is not a place for what it called US aggression and vowed to respond firmly to any perceived threat.

The warning comes amid heightened regional tensions and continued concerns over maritime security in the Gulf. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical energy transit routes, carrying a significant share of global oil and liquefied natural gas exports, making developments in the area closely watched by the international community.
