Russia Calls for Fair Settlement Between US and Iran as Tensions Begin to Shake Global Economy

Russia has called for a fair and lasting resolution to the escalating dispute between the United States and Iran, warning that the continuing confrontation is no longer just a regional crisis but a growing threat to the global economy.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed concern over the sharp tensions between Washington and Tehran and said it had become essential to find a just and sustainable solution to the conflict in order to prevent further damage to international economic stability.
Lavrov stressed that any future agreement between the United States and Iran must reflect the rights, interests, and security concerns of all relevant parties. He warned that without a balanced settlement, lasting peace in the region would remain out of reach.
According to the Russian foreign minister, the consequences of the current confrontation and military escalation are no longer confined to the Middle East. He said the impact is now being felt across the wider global economy, which is facing increasing pressure as a result of instability in one of the world’s most sensitive strategic regions.
Lavrov also made clear that Russia’s position regarding the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf remains firm, emphasizing Moscow’s support for freedom of navigation through these critical maritime routes.
He said no agreement could succeed or endure unless it takes into account the interests and security concerns of all sides on an equal basis. In Moscow’s view, any attempt to impose a one-sided solution would only deepen mistrust and prolong the crisis.
