Trump Orders Military to Launch Fresh Attack on Iran: US Newspaper Claims

The Wall Street Journal has reported that US President Donald Trump has instructed the US military to prepare for possible new action against Iran.

According to the report, the United States and Israel are considering different options for targeting Iran’s energy facilities. US media reports also suggest that if tensions continue to rise, military action could take place at any time by the end of the week.

Speaking to the media after a cabinet meeting, Trump took a strong position against Iran. He warned that the United States could launch a more powerful military operation if Tehran does not change its policies.

Trump said Washington wants to increase pressure on Iran to force it to change its approach and help reduce tensions in the region. He accused Iran of repeatedly breaking its commitments and taking provocative actions that are harming efforts to establish peace.

Regarding a possible ceasefire with Iran, Trump said the main goal of the United States is to protect its interests and achieve success. He claimed that US military operations had severely damaged Iran’s military capabilities, including its naval and air forces and air defence systems.

Trump also said the United States would not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons. He warned that an Iranian nuclear weapon could pose a serious threat to peace and security across the Middle East.

The US president further warned that Washington could take tougher measures if Iran does not change its policies. He said continued pressure could eventually push Iran to seek negotiations and an end to the conflict.
