PM Shehbaz Congratulates President Erdogan and Turkish People on Victory Day

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended heartfelt congratulations to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish government and the brotherly people of Turkiye on Victory Day. He said August 30 commemorates the historic victory of Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, describing it as a landmark achievement that laid the foundations of modern Turkiye. Pakistan, he added, proudly shares the Turkish people’s appreciation for this great legacy.

The prime minister said Pakistan-Turkiye relations are rooted in centuries-old emotional and fraternal ties based on shared faith, history and a common spirit of struggle. He noted that the two countries had reaffirmed their strategic brotherhood through the Mecca Agreement, describing the defense pact as an arrangement that further links Pakistan and Turkiye with Saudi Arabia and opens the way for stronger collective security and defense capabilities.

Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening relations with Turkiye across all fields, saying the strategic partnership would contribute to the shared prosperity and security of both nations. He expressed hope that the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Turkiye would remain strong and enduring, and that the two countries’ unbreakable brotherhood would continue to flourish.
