Iranian Lawmaker Says US Will Eventually Leave Region

The United States will eventually leave the Middle East, according to Ebrahim Azizi, chairman of Iran’s parliamentary National Security and Foreign Policy Commission.

In a statement posted on X, Azizi said that once US forces leave the region, Iran and neighbouring countries would remain there.

Azizi described the eventual departure of US forces as a day of “regret” and also said the end of the Israeli government was drawing closer.

His remarks came amid continuing tensions between Iran and the United States and ongoing diplomatic efforts surrounding the conflict.

Azizi has previously called for the withdrawal of US forces from the region and argued that regional countries should not rely on Washington for their security.

His latest comments came as the United States and Iran continued to exchange positions over a possible diplomatic settlement, with Qatar and other regional actors attempting to facilitate further talks.
