Taliban Regime Under Siege; Multiple Armed Resistance Groups Launch Massive Attacks Across Afghanistan

Several anti-Taliban armed groups have claimed responsibility for attacks in different parts of Afghanistan, reporting casualties among Taliban personnel and damage to security infrastructure.

The Afghanistan United Front said its forces carried out targeted operations in Kandahar and Ghor provinces. The group claimed that a Taliban intelligence officer and a security guard protecting the governor were killed, while eight other personnel were seriously wounded.

The National Independence Front said its fighters carried out a rocket attack on a Taliban checkpoint in Aryoub Zazi district of Paktia province. According to the group, seven Taliban personnel were killed and several positions were destroyed. The National Independence Front also said its fighters returned safely after the operation.

Afghanistan United Front has separately claimed responsibility for an attack on the Taliban governor’s office in Firozkoh, the capital of Ghor province. Afghanistan International reported that the group had claimed responsibility, although details about casualties from that particular incident remained unclear.

Afghanistan Green Trend has also claimed operations against Taliban security infrastructure in Panjshir and Kapisa. The group said two Taliban Ranger vehicles were destroyed in Panjshir and that a Taliban intelligence official, identified as Mullah Abdul Rahman, was killed in Kapisa.

Independent reporting has documented continued activity by several anti-Taliban groups across Afghanistan. The Foundation for Defense of Democracies’ Long War Journal said eight resistance groups claimed 37 targeted operations across multiple provinces during September.

The latest claims could not be independently verified in full, and Taliban authorities have not publicly confirmed all of the reported casualties.
