PM underlines benefit from the EU GSP Plus agreement for Pakistan’s trade.

In a series of tweets on Wednesday, he said Pakistan’s trade has benefited from the EU’s GSP Plus agreement.

The PM said Pakistan will continue working to fulfill its commitments under the 27 International Conventions it is party to. They include six Human Rights Conventions and which are part of GSP Plus agreement.

He termed these commitments beneficial for Pakistan.

He said said already Pakistan’s Green initiatives including Billion Tree Tsunami and Human Rights National Action Plan have been appreciated by the EU.

The PM said as our trade and economy continue to benefit from GSP Plus we are committed to furthering our human rights commitments for the benefit of our people.

Prime Minister said we have enacted a law to ensure women’s right to inheritance.

He said Pakistan is committed to enforcing laws against child labour and in support of transgenders; filling in legislative gaps including on torture, protection of journalists and media professionals and our other human rights commitments.

Earlier, PM Khan approved in principle the establishment of the Pakistan Post Pension Fund.

The Prime Minister presided over a meeting regarding the pension of Pakistan Post employees in Islamabad on Wednesday.

The purpose of establishing the Pakistan Pension Fund is to reduce the burden of pensions on the government and to ensure better management of employee’s pension matters.
