Interior Minister asks UAE for early end to visa restrictions for Pakistanis.

Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed raised this issue, while talking to UAE Ambassador.

The ambassador called on him Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Al Zaabi of UAE met him in Islamabad today (Tuesday).

Sheikh Rashid called for early end to the visa restrictions on Pakistani citizens for the United Arab Emirates.

Furthermore, he also said Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates have long-standing ties.

The Minister noted 1.5 million Pakistani workers in the UAE as valuable asset.

He also appreciated that they send foreign exchange reserves worth about five billion dollars to Pakistan annually.

However, Sheikh also reminded the UAE government’s cooperation required for extradition of the Pakistanis imprisoned in the UAE.

The minister assured to continue efforts for promotion of bilateral ties.

Ambassador recognizes Pakistanis role in development of UAE

Meanwhile, the UAE Ambassador told him the visa restriction on Pakistani citizens temporary.

Moreover, he said talks underway, and hopefully, issuance of visas will soon resume.

He said the Pakistani community has an exemplary role in development of the UAE.

Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Al Zaabi underlined their wellbeing as among UAE priorities.
