Ministers demand Election Commission of Pakistan to resign due to failure in shouldering responsibilities.

Federal Ministers Shafqat Mahmood, Shibli Faraz and Chaudhry Fawad made this demand during a joint press conference.

The spoke to the media in Islamabad today.

Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood asked the ECP to immediately resign.

He accused them of having failed to fulfil its responsibilities in holding transparent elections in the country.

He further said ECP has lost confidence of all the political parties.

Shafqat Mahmood said the Chief Election Commissioner and all its members should resign to provide an opportunity to the parliament to constitute a new and credible Election Commission.

He said the new ECP can ensure transparency and check corrupt practices in the polling process.

Moreover, the Minister also condemned attack on Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Shahbaz Gill by the PML-N workers.

Meanwhile, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Syed Shibli Faraz and Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, also spoke.

Federal Information Minister Shibli Faraz also called on Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Special Assistant Rauf Hassan, Senator Faisal Javed and Yousuf Baig Mirza also accompanied him during the meeting.

They discussed matters related to highlight performance of the government and steps taken for the welfare of the people.
