FBR initiates major action against non-filers

Islamabad: FBR has started major action against non-filers.

According to sources, FBR has issued notices to 4 lakh non-filers, action will be initiated against those who do not respond.

Non-filers will be dealt with under Income Tax Ordinance 2001.

According to sources, electricity and gas connections of non-filers will be disconnected, mobile phone SIM will also be blocked, FBR will approach discos and needle companies to disconnect the connections.

According to the sources, a plan has been made to include up to 20 lakh new taxpayers in the tax net.
