Babar Azam could break major HBL PSL record
With Peshawar Zalmi are through to the playoffs, captain Babar Azam is in pole position to break Fakhar Zaman’s record.
Known for his classy batting, the right-hander is leading from the front with 498 runs in nine innings so far at an impressive average of 62.25.
With Zalmi are set to finish in top two spots at the points table, depending on the result of today’s (Tuesday) game between Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators, they are set to play at least two matches.
The could directly qualify for the final on Thursday, or if they fail they will play the second eliminator on Saturday.
This would give Babar an opportunity to dethrone Fakhar as the highest runs getter in a single HBL Pakistan Super League edition.
Fakhar achieved their feat in 2022, when he scored 588 runs, surpassing Babar Azam’s 554, which he scored in 2021.
Babar needs 90 runs to break the Lahore Qalandars’ batter record.
