JI announces anti-govt march on 16th
The Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan has announced a march against the government on May 16.
‘The situation that happened in Azad Jammu and Kashmir is alarming,’ JI Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman told a press conference today.
He, however, said that the situation has improved with the timely actions of the prime minister. The Ministry of Kashmir Affairs is taking all steps now, he added.
He said that miscreants also join the protests, but we do not support them. When people are not provided with anything, there will be misery, Hafiz Naeem said.
The JI chief said that the Pakistan government is silent on what India is doing.
He said that the owners of thousands of acres of land do not pay taxes. He further said that the government has been imposed on us on the basis of Form 47.
Last month, Jamaat-e-Islami has named Hafiz Naeem as its new Ameer. He succeeded Sirajul Haq, who stepped down after General Elections.
JI secured no seats in the National Assembly and got only two seats in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly.
Naeem, who won the Member Provincial Assembly seat in the recently concluded polls, relinquished his PS-129 seat after alleged rigging.
“Worst rigging was made in recent elections,” he had said, voicing his party’s reservations over the results, which, he claimed, were marred by manipulation and unfair allocation of seats.
