Fans and social media backlash has pushed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on the back foot in the Fakhar Zaman case, who is likely to make comeback in the side in the South Africa series
Fakhar, who has been performing consistently in the white-ball cricket and was one of the favourite candidate to replace Babar Azam for the captaincy, found himself in hot waters after a tweet in favour of out-of-form batter Babar.
His tweet didn’t receive well be the PCB top brace, as the result, the southpaw lost his spot in the upcoming Australia tour as well as in the new central contract.
However, the move was not only criticised by the former cricketers, but also by fans who flooded the social media with messages in support of Fakhar.
Following, that the PCB has reportedly shown flexibility and a softened stance on the matter. Fakhar Zaman reportedly presented his position clearly in response to the PCB’s show-cause notice.
The PCB is reportedly inclined toward a logical resolution, and progress is expected in Fakhar Zaman’s case in the coming days.
Additionally, national team captain Mohammad Rizwan has advocated for Fakhar’s return to the team.
