Watch: Khawaja Asif ‘threatened’, heckled at London train station

13 November, 2024 22:33

Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif was subjected to aggressive heckling and threatened with a “knife attack” by an unidentified individual while traveling on public transport in London.

The incident, which was captured on video, has since gone viral on social media.

The altercation took place at a London ground station as Asif, accompanied by a court journalist, was traveling by train.

The individual, who filmed the confrontation, can be heard shouting insults at the minister and making threatening remarks, including a direct threat of a knife attack.

Sources within the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have confirmed the authenticity of the footage.

Asif, a senior PML-N leader, is currently in London alongside former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. This incident adds to a growing number of confrontational encounters involving political figures abroad.

Last week, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who was visiting Switzerland, was also targeted by a group of alleged supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party.

As she left a building with her bodyguards, PTI workers gathered outside, raising slogans and challenging her leadership. The protestors specifically referenced Form 47, a document related to the February elections, which PTI claims was tampered with.
