Gold prices decline in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Gold prices in Pakistan saw a significant decline on Monday, mirroring the drop in international gold rates.

The price of gold per tola in the local market decreased by Rs4,300, settling at Rs278,400, according to data from the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewelers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

Similarly, the price of 10-gram gold dropped by Rs3,657 to reach Rs238,683. This decline follows an increase of Rs2,200 per tola on Saturday, when the price of gold had risen to Rs282,700.

Internationally, gold prices also experienced a decrease. The rate of gold fell to $2,672 per ounce (with a premium of $20), a drop of $43 during the day. Spot gold declined by 0.6% to $2,695.79 per ounce, while US gold futures dropped 0.5% to $2,697.90.

In the local market, silver prices also saw a decrease, falling by Rs50 to settle at Rs3,400 per tola.

Last month, gold prices in Pakistan had reached an all-time high of Rs287,900 per tola.
