Kyrgyzstan Rejects EU Proposal to Host Afghan Refugees

Kyrgyzstan has rejected a proposal from European countries to host Afghan refugees in exchange for allowing Kyrgyz citizens to move to Europe, according to Afghan media outlet Afghanistan International.

The Kyrgyz foreign minister said Bishkek strongly opposed the proposal put forward by European countries.

Meanwhile, European countries have further tightened their immigration policies concerning Afghan nationals, Afghanistan International reported.

Afghans living in different parts of the world continue to face challenges related to immigration and acceptance in host countries.

International affairs experts say the Taliban government’s policies have added to the difficulties faced by Afghans, both inside Afghanistan and abroad, and have contributed to growing concerns over their acceptance in other countries.
