Over 300 Pakistanis returned home safely from Syria: FO

The Foreign Office has said that more than 300 Pakistanis have returned to the country safely from Syria.

A spokesperson for the Foreign Office, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, said in a weekly media briefing that those returning from Syria include people going for pilgrimage.

More than 300 Pakistanis have returned safely from Syria. We are grateful to the Lebanese government for issuing visas to Pakistanis immediately. Our embassy is assisting all Pakistanis in Syria, she said.

The FO spokesperson further said that we believe that every act of terrorism should be condemned. The international community should take notice of Israel’s war crimes. Support the security and sovereignty of Syria. Israel’s occupation of the Golan Heights is condemnable.

Zahra said that Pakistan believes that external intervention will not solve the problems of Syria.

Syrian citizens have the right to determine their own future. Pakistan will continue to support Kashmiris politically and morally, she said and called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

Regarding the tweet of Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on the death of Khalil-ur-Rehman Haqqani, the spokesperson said that he expressed grief over the death of Taliban minister.
