24 December, 2024 23:30

The Sindh education department has directed the private schools not to take advance or additional fees from students, says a circular issued by the Directorate of Inspection and Private Institutions.

The directive issued to provide financial relief to parents and students and to ensure a fair and transparent fee collection process.

The notification said that, as per the Steering Committee’s decision, the academic year 2025-26 will begin on April 1, 2025 and to reduce financial burdens, it has been mandated that tuition fees for matriculation students should only be collected up to April.

For students from pre-primary to grade nine tuition fees for June and July my be collected during April and May.

It added, however, schools should issue separate fee vouchers for each month to maintain clarity and transparency.

Furthermore, the notification specifies that the June fee vouchers must remain payable until June 30, while the July fee vouchers should be settled by July 31.

This approach is introduced to prevent financial strain on parents and ensure timely payment of fees without undue pressure.
