Bilawal Bhutto slams Shehbaz-led govt over VPN shutdown
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari will attend US President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony on January 20 in personal capacity.
Well-placed sources claimed that the PPP chairman would depart for the US in next few days to attend the Trump’s inauguration as he has received an invitation from the president-elect’s administration.
Besides Bilawal, Trump also invited Chinese President Xi Jinping and other world leaders to his inauguration.
It is to be mentioned here that PPP Co-chairman and President Asif Ali Zardari had attended in 2017 the pre-inauguration oath ceremony of then US president-elect Trump in Washington.
Asif Ali Zardari was accompanied by PPP leaders Rehman Malik (late) and Sherry Rehman.
Following his landslide victory in the November 5 presidential election, Trump is set to swear in as the 47th head of the US during the inauguration ceremony at the Capitol next week.
Donald Trump bagged victory in the 2024 US presidential election, declaring an “unprecedented and powerful mandate” while addressing supporters in Florida.
He said: “I want to thank the American people for the extraordinary honour of being elected your 47th president and your 45th president.”
Trump had earlier refused to accept defeat four years ago, sparking a violent insurrection at the US Capitol and later being convicted of felony charges.
