Pakistan launches its first electro-optical satellite
Pakistan’s national space agency Sparco has launched an indigenously developed electro-optical satellite EO-1.
The electro-optical satellite was launched into space from China’s Ji Chuan Satellite Launch Center, EO at the Satellite Research and Development Center Lahore. Scenes of Vin being sent into space are seen.
According to Sparco, the indigenously developed (EO-1) is an advanced satellite that will be used for environmental monitoring, agriculture, defense and surveillance.
Sparco says the launch of the (EO-1) mission reflects Sparco’s dedication and expertise in advancing Pakistan’s technological capabilities in space science and innovation.
The indigenously developed satellite is a major milestone in Pakistan’s space technology journey, before Pakistan’s first multi-mission satellite ‘PakSat MM1’ was launched in May 2024 from China’s Xichang Satellite Launch Centre.
