18 January, 2025 18:15

Researchers have discovered long-lost computer code and used it to ‘resurrect’ the world’s first and 60-year-old early chatbot ELIZA.

Scientists have recently resurrected the world’s first chatbot called Eliza using old lost computer code, which is the first is a chatbot

After sifting through dusty printouts from the MIT archives, scientists discovered a code that had been lost for 60 years.

Eliza was developed in the 1960s by MIT professor Joseph Weisenbaum and named Eliza.

As a language model with which users can interact, Eliza also has a prominent place in today’s AI technology, the researchers say.

Eliza was designed to answer questions like a psychotherapist. For example, Eliza would say, “Please tell me your problem. And if the user replies, “All men are the same,” Eliza would ask, “On what basis?”
