A small plane with six onboard crashed into Philadelphia neighbourhood, local media confirmed Saturday.
According to authorities, the medical jet was carrying “sensitive packages”, which went down near Roosevelt Boulevard and Cottman Avenue.
The crash caused a massive explosion and set multiple homes on fire.
While officials have not disclosed the nature of these packages, reports suggest they could have contained critical medical materials, such as organ donations or rare blood supplies.
Emergency workers rushed to the crash site and are working to recover any remaining cargo and assess the impact of the disaster.
Eyewitnesses in the area described hearing a loud explosion as the plane went down, with some reporting that their homes shook due to the blast.
Police sources indicate that parts of the aircraft struck vehicles and nearby businesses, further escalating the destruction.
