PTI founder’s letter sent to judges’ constitutional committee: CJP

Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi has said that PTI founder Imran Khan’s letter has been sent to the judges constitutional committee as they will decide and the constitutional bench has to look into the matter.
Talking to reporters after meeting a special delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in the Supreme Court, he said that he will brief on the meeting of the IMF delegation and discuss the letter of the PTI founder. He added that he will also discuss the National Judicial Policy Making Committee.
The Chief Justice said that he replied to the IMF delegation that we have taken an oath of independence of the judiciary under the constitution. I told the delegation that this is not our job, tell you all the details, I told the delegation about the agenda of the National Judicial Policy Making Committee.
He said that he told the delegation that the subordinate judiciary is supervised by the high courts. The delegation said that we want to know about the compliance of agreements, and property rights, he added.
The Chief Justice further said that he told the delegation that we will propose and the benches will be formed for early hearing in high courts. I told the delegation that what you are saying should be bilateral, the delegation said that we want to protect foreign investment in Pakistan, I told the delegation that we will need artificial intelligence for the judiciary, he added.
