PM Shehbaz Sharif Welcomes S&P Credit Rating Upgrade, Calls It Milestone for Economy

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed the upgrade of Pakistan’s sovereign credit rating to ‘B’, describing it as a significant milestone for the country’s economy. He said the improved rating reflects growing international confidence in Pakistan’s sustained efforts to stabilize the economy and demonstrates that the government’s economic policies are moving in the right direction.

The prime minister said the improved rating is evidence that difficult but necessary economic decisions have begun to yield positive results and are now being recognized globally. He expressed confidence that the development would strengthen the trust of international investors, create new investment opportunities, and further accelerate Pakistan’s economic growth.

Shehbaz Sharif also praised the government’s economic team and relevant institutions for their role in achieving the upgrade.
