Hajj 2025: Saudi Arabia implements child ban

11 February, 2025 15:14

Saudi Arabia in a latest move to make Hajj 2025 as smooth as possible, the government has banned children accompanying pilgrims.

The decision was made to enhance safety amid the substantial crowding during the holy event, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said.

In addition to the child ban, first-time pilgrims would be prioritised to ensure that as many Muslims as possible have the opportunity to undertake the holy journey.

The registration process for the Hajj in the county has opened for locals and the citizens. They can apply through the Nusuk app and the official website.

New visa regulations have also been introduced, effective February 1. Individuals from 14 countries, including India, will only be eligible for single-entry visas to prevent unauthorized participation in Hajj.

This measure aims to mitigate crowding at key holy sites and ensure a more organized pilgrimage experience.

Pilgrims are encouraged to stay informed and complete their registrations through official channels to avoid complications.
