AI could be used by terrorists, fears ex-Google boss

The Google’s former chief executive has expressed his concerned that artificial intelligence could be used by terrorists or rogue states to harm innocent masses.
Speaking to BBC, Eric Schmidt said that the real fears that he has are not the ones that most people talk about AI.
He added that North Korea, or Iran, or even Russia could adopt and misuse the technology to create biological weapons.
The tech billionaire has demanded government oversight on private tech companies that are developing AI models and warned that over-regulation could stifle innovation.
Schmidt, who held senior posts at Google from 2001 to 2017, agreed with the US export controls on powerful microchips which power the most advanced AI systems.
Former US president Joe Biden, before Schmidt left office, had restricted the export of microchips to all but 18 countries to slow adversaries’ progress on AI research.
The Biden’s decision could still be changed by President Trump.
The former Google boss said that think about North Korea, or Iran, or even Russia, who have some evil goal.
