TikTok returns to US app stores now

After Trump delayed the ban, TikTok became available back on American app stores.
The app returned to Apple and Google app stores in the US after President Donald Trump delayed the implementation of a ban on the popular social media app run by Chinese technology firm ByteDance.
Under a law related to the app, its Chinese owner faced a ban on selling it on national security grounds or coming into effect from January 19.
TikTok, which has more than 170 million US users, was removed from Apple and Google’s App Stores on January 18 to comply with the law.
After taking office on January 20, Trump signed an executive order requesting a 75-day delay in the implementation of the law, after which Apple and Google had not made TikTok available on their app stores.
However, after the ban was delayed, TikTok became available back on American app stores.
The video-sharing app has long faced problems in the United States, with the government claiming that its Chinese ownership and access to the data of millions of Americans make it a threat to national security.
