Karachi R3 Bus Route temporarily changed for Champions Trophy – Check details

The People’s Bus Service in Karachi has temporarily changed the route of the R-3 bus due to Champions Trophy matches.

R3 Bus New Route Details

Previously, the R-3 bus traveled from North Nazimabad through Liaquatabad, Hassan Square, and Karsaz to Shahrah-e-Faisal. Now, on match days, it will take a new route via Teen Hatti and Shahrah-e-Quaideen before reaching Shahrah-e-Faisal.

Authorities have confirmed that this route change is only for match days. On regular days, the R-3 bus will follow its original route.

Earlier, the Sindh government has approved a fare increase of up to 60% for the People’s Bus Service (PBS), effective February 1, 2025.

The decision aims to cover rising operational costs after route expansions. The National Radio & Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC), which manages PBS, has implemented the new fare structure.

According to officials, fares have increased by 20% to 60% on different routes. The updated rates are displayed on buses to inform passengers in advance. PBS fares now range between Rs 50 and Rs 100, depending on the travel distance.

This change will affect daily commuters, including office workers and students.
