State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that it will remain closed for public dealing on the first working day of Ramadan 1446 AH. This day will be observed as a “Bank Holiday” for the purpose of Zakat deduction.
As a result, all banks, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), and Microfinance Banks (MFBs) will be closed for public dealings on the first working day of Ramadan 1446 AH. The SBP will issue an official notification regarding this in the coming days.
However, all employees of banks, DFIs, and MFBs will still attend to their official duties on the Bank Holiday and treat it as a normal working day (excluding public dealing).
